Who is eligible for your services?
Our services are designed to support individuals with developmental disabilities who are eligible through Developmental Services Ontario (DSO). Eligibility typically depends on factors such as having a documented developmental disability and residing in Ontario. If you’re unsure about the process or whether you qualify, we’re here to help. We can provide guidance on how to connect with DSO, understand their criteria, and explore the range of supports and services available to you or your loved one.
What types of housing options do you offer?
We offer a range of community-based housing options, including houses and apartment buildings, designed to support individuals with developmental disabilities in living fulfilling and independent lives. Our accommodations include supported group living arrangements with 24/7 staff support, as well as semi-independent living options for those seeking greater autonomy. The type of housing provided depends on each individual’s needs and the availability of accommodations at the time. If you’d like more information or assistance in exploring housing options, we’re here to help.
How can families stay involved in their loved ones care?
Families play a vital role in supporting their loved ones, and we encourage active involvement in their care. We work closely with families to maintain open communication, provide updates, and welcome their input in planning and decision-making. Families can participate in regular meetings, stay connected with staff, and collaborate on personalized care plans to ensure their loved ones’ needs and goals are met. We also offer opportunities for families to join events, celebrations, and activities, fostering a sense of connection and community. Your partnership is important to us, and we’re here to support you in staying engaged every step of the way.
What kinds of qualifications and training do your support workers have?
Our support workers are highly trained professionals with diverse qualifications to ensure they provide exceptional care. Many have backgrounds in Developmental Services, Social Work, Child and Youth Care, or related fields, and some are certified Personal Support Workers (PSWs). In addition to formal education, our team receives ongoing training in areas such as person-centered planning, communication, health and safety, crisis prevention and intervention, and specialized care for individuals with developmental disabilities. This comprehensive training ensures our staff are well-prepared to meet the unique needs of each person we support.
