Who we are > Accessibility
Creating an inclusive and accessible environment for everyone we support.
Founded in 1967 by Drs. Wanda and Witold Rygiel, Rygiel Supports for Community Living began as a place of care for children with multiple disabilities. Over the decades, we have grown and evolved alongside the people we support, shifting our focus to person-directed care and community-based living. Today, Rygiel is committed to empowering individuals to live rich, fulfilling lives by fostering meaningful connections, championing choice, and ensuring that each person is recognized and valued as a vital member of their community.
The Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act (SPDDA)
At Rygiel Supports for Community Living, we embrace the principles of the SPDDA by providing person-centered services that empower individuals to make choices about their lives and goals. Through collaboration with individuals, families, and community partners, we strive to create an environment where everyone can thrive and contribute. Our commitment to the SPDDA reflects our dedication to building a more inclusive society where all individuals are valued and supported in reaching their full potential.
Broader Public Sector Act (BPSA)
As a proud member of Ontario’s broader public sector, we are committed to upholding the principles outlined in the Broader Public Sector Accountability Act (BPSAA). This legislation promotes transparency, accountability, and ethical practices across public organizations. At Rygiel Supports for Community Living, these values guide our operations and decision-making, ensuring that we remain responsible stewards of the resources entrusted to us and continue to serve our community with integrity and dedication.

Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
We are dedicated to creating an inclusive and accessible environment for everyone. In alignment with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), we actively work to identify, remove, and prevent barriers for people with disabilities in all aspects of our services. This commitment extends to our facilities, communications, programs, and interactions, ensuring that accessibility is at the heart of everything we do.
Through regular training, feedback, and updates to our practices, we strive to meet and exceed AODA standards. Our efforts reflect our belief in equity and inclusion, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to live their best life with dignity, independence, and respect.
Bilingual Accessibility
We are committed to respecting and fulfilling French language requirements to ensure accessibility and inclusion for Francophone individuals and communities. By providing services and communications in both English and French, we aim to create an environment where everyone feels valued and supported.
