Opportunities at Rygiel
Volunteer Opportunities
Rygiel welcomes volunteers! Your skills, experiences and interests can be used to help enrich the lives of those people we support. There are numerous ways in which we depend on the citizens of our community. For example, the hard work of our Bingo Committee has resulted in funding for new transport vans for the agency.
These include:
- befriending a person/family we serve;
- sharing time and talents to help an individual pursue his/her talents;
- helping create opportunities for a person to pursue day interests (e.g. volunteer at a business);
- assisting with recreational activities;
- being a member of a Personal Support Network (helping an individual identify dreams, needs and ways to achieve these);
- contributing to the resources needed by offering donations of finance, services in kind, and/or equipment (e.g. wheelchairs, help build ramps, etc.);
- helping with special events;
- volunteering on a committee (e.g. fundraising, newsletter, education, day supports);
- assisting with driving.
RYGIEL Supports for Community Living continues its long history of working with schools including community colleges and universities. These affiliations mutually benefit all parties through student placements, class presentations and the networks that develop.
Members of our community are a vital resource.
If you can help, please contact our Community Resource Facilitator.
